Patriarch Abraham dies at 175 years old

On the morning of last Friday, the body of the illustrious Patriarch Abraham was solemnly laid to rest at the Cave of Machpelah Cemetery, a sacred site situated in the region he had conquered in his youth and had become a wealthy man. Abraham is revered for being the father of Isaac, born to him when the patriarch was a hundred years old, and for his unwavering faith in God.

With 75 years passing after the birth of Isaac, also known as “The Son of Promise,” Abraham, in his advanced age, departed from this life to eternity. His story is marked by moments of trial and trust in a divine promise that would ensure him numerous descendants.

The burial ceremony was conducted by his two sons, Isaac and Ishmael, who were born from different relationships. The familial unity during this farewell moment emphasized the historical significance of the patriarch, who played essential roles in the origins of two important lineages.

It’s not the first time that the Machpelah Cemetery witnesses the mourning of Abraham’s family. Some years earlier, the patriarch himself laid his beloved wife Sarah to rest in the same location, thereby perpetuating the family tradition of a final rest in that land acquired from the Hittites.

The death of Abraham was deeply felt not only by his descendants but also by the entire community that respected his leadership and wisdom. His legacy of faith and devotion will continue to resonate through future generations.
